GOD: Of course my child.
Girl: And the Church?
GOD: Now let's not get hasty.

One of my concerns is that the tech oligarchs are going to actually try to make it an official religion (TESCREAL) to get more tax breaks. There already exist cults and the worldview is heavily religious, especially from some Californian Ideology sect.

Scientology is proof of concept that you can just straight up threaten and blackmail your way into tax exemption, and L Ron Hubbard had a fuck of a lot less cash than any of the tech guys.

Honestly churches and CEOs are like 2-4 orders of magnitude below our current problem.
Once we deal with the tech trillionaires we can talk about the churches.

We can only wish for the best case scenario.
Also vote. Since it's that time of the year. And it's really important

I think we need more than just taxes at this point, they are and have always been way too cozy with the US government.
I think they’d just pull another Reagan a few decades after it’s implemented tbh.
Edit: they = Billionaires

The problem is both Citizens United and its predecessor, Bellotti, a 1978 Supreme Court (5-4) decision that allowed for-profit corporations to engage in political speech.
The country needs to both place greater controls on SuperPACs (overturn Citizens United) and criminalize election interference by for-profit corporations (overturn Bellotti).

Taxes are for ordinary times.
Guillotines are for extraordinary times.

There’s only one thing that can be done. You can’t talk about it, but it’s the only other thing they care more about than their greed.

The Russian bots apparently haven't bounced back from the data center being blown up.
Not a single comment pretending income tax is the only tax the Federal Government collects.
Not a single comment pretending that if the rich pay taxes it will destroy the economy.
Not a single comment pretending that only perfect solutions that fund the entire government must be considered even though the Federal government runs on a deficit and only collected $5T in taxes last year.
Not a single comment pretending that the current tax law definition of income is set in stone and the Haig-Simmons definition used by economists (which doesn't rely on realized gains) is both possible and superior.
I like this Reddit.

It kind of reminds me of the blessed months between trump getting kicked off Twitter and Idiot Man buying it.
Peaceful.
