I started working on cars in TN this year, recently had a 2006 van that had not been taken care of and had spent its entire life till now above the US rust belt in Michigan. We couldnt even get it on a lift because of fear of the frame just snapping

Bloody right. My cheap project car was purchased with the view of "whatever rust i can see, double it, and double it again." Still more rust in it than I expected once the cutting wheel came out (its now going to be parted out to save my sanity).

1/3? Rust on cars is like icebergs, 90% of that crap is hiding and/or painted over. Major props to you for fixing it even if you didn't get adequately compensated

Super easy fix, just turn 270° right instead of turning left.

(I once had an RC car like that. The remote only had one "turn" button. It could only turn right by design.)
