I like that relevant XKCDs have become more relevant again

They spend your donation spamming you.

Sure. Right after they stop messaging all the people who never gave them a donation in the first place.
I wish phone numbers had a +tag feature like Gmail and some others so I could see who sold my info.
I can see Company sold my email to a spammer when I get emails from Name+Company@gmail that are not from Company.
I have no idea who sold my phone number to a political spammer. And sometimes they just get it from voter registration public records. Yay.

I also made the mistake of giving them my phone number/email

Good news! Political communications (at least emails) don't have to abide by the CAN-SPAM act, and you'll be receiving fundraising requests until the heat death of the universe, with no way to actually remove yourself from whatever master spam lists they've added you to!
Oh, did I say *good* news? I meant TERRIBLE news!

I went to the comments to see if anyone had anything about how to block them, and your comment makes me hella frustrated.
Thanks for the info though

Least when that happened to me for the Harris Campaign they stopped after I unsubscribed and such.
The text alerts spamming me daily about voting for Republicans or whatever bullshit some PAC paid to shove down my throat. I have to report as spam over and over because I’m like “there is no guarantee replying stop will be good if its a scam”.
Because I guarantee someone is trying to slip in with all the cringe ads candidates are sending out.
I kinda love that I haven’t really gotten one from Talarco yet. It’s kinda like “thank you for bot adding to this bull shit as much as everyone else”.
But they might just be getting filtered out!

I made the mistake of giving them my email. Thank goodness for email filters!

I saw a comment the other day and I wish I made note of the source. It said the company behind the non-stop outrageous message spam only sends 2% of the money to the candidates they claim to be raising money for.
It's disgusting.

Bernie Sanders and actblue don't bother me at all
12. u/turribleDeal · 2026-10-28 21:26 UTC
Never using act blue again!

Block and report as spam. I've blocked and reported spam on the same campaigns DOZENS of times. Good times.

I also get calls trying to reach my late father so they call me for some fucking reason. That’s usually when I lose it
