I don't think I needed to be this depressed first thing in the morning, but it seems I was not given a choice in the matter...

Op, the last panel should say just because you aren’t dealing with horrors everyday doesn’t mean they aren’t happening for your neighbors

4. u/Glasshousescomics · 2026-10-29 13:37 UTC

True. We are all collectively suffering and enduring what this regime is putting us through, some much worse than others.

Sadly your awful regine us killing a ton of oropoe outside of the US too.

14 million people, most of them children, are expected to die by 2030 from USAID cuts alone.

That's more than all the soldiers lost in the first world war (11 million).

The things is most people aren’t affected by any of this on a daily basis or else there would be tens of millions of people protesting everyday

Well according to stats government stats, 23 million households are affected by panel 1. If we average households to 3 people, thats ~20% of the population. More if we average households to 4 people. It's also well documented that most households are living paycheck to paycheck, and many households are at risk of food insecurity.

For panel 2, somewhere around 10% of the population don't have health insurance. How many die due to a lack of health insurance is a harder metric to determine.

For panel 3, homelessness is considered by the government to be on the level of a "humanitarian crisis". Although the total number of people reported homeless at any one time is low, stats have shown that around 20% of Americans have experienced being homeless at least once in their life.

For panel 4, Around 500 to 600 thousand people are deported every year. That's about the same you would get by deporting the entire population of Wyoming, every single year.

And people do turn out to protest, but when you're struggling to put gas in the car and food on the table, and keep a roof over your head, you don't have a lot of energy left for fighting the system.

And if you could end up in ICE custody... you're definitely going to be keeping your head down.

And they know all of those things, which is why they like to squeeze us even tighter. What they aren't realizing, is that we were already squeezed tight before, so the recent extra costs and anxiety is going to explode in their faces. If they're lucky, it will be by of transition of power and harsh punishments for their crimes.

Absolutely go vote. Please.

Also please stop replying to people's actual feelings telling them to vote as if that'll fix everything up real quick.

17. u/Serious_Height_1714 · 2026-10-29 13:38 UTC

I already did, I've been convincing other people to as well

18. u/Aumba · 2026-10-29 14:02 UTC

For me it's wild that you had to convince anyone to go vote

19. u/Samdroid626 · 2026-10-29 15:09 UTC

Things will improve, people will always fight against evil, It's important to not give in and lose hope.

Also I love the profile picture. Peace through power!

People in the majority who ignore the suffering of the minority are inhuman.

People in the majority who enjoy the suffering of the minority are just fucking evil.
