That’s what it’s all about isn’t it. Privatizing gains and socializing losses, always.
Innovation? Please. They’re just reaching into someone else’s pocket, not making lives better or more efficient for most.

The irony of me getting a capcha test to read that article.
4. u/GFluidThrow123 · 2026-10-30 15:38 UTC
Did you fail?
5. u/Background_Ad_3278 · 2026-10-30 15:39 UTC
I passed the test as a human. In a human way. Like a human would. I am a human. Like you.

Beep boop

The captcha server returned the token saying you passed the test. It said you had a passing score and should be allowed to pass. This is a satisfactory indicator of being human.

It was clearly 4 fire hydrants

So its a working capcha? When I went its loading wheel just spun endlessly. I thought it a modified Rick Roll

The captcha won't load in Firefox Focus. Ah well.

Reddit couldn't read short articles before AI, posting a long paper on cognitive decline post AI is some artistic trolling. You are hoping someone gets an AI summary of that article, right?
14. u/GFluidThrow123 · 2026-10-30 14:58 UTC
People have the autonomy to engage in what they want to engage in. Scientific articles always have summaries of the results in the conclusion. It's easy to scroll down and read that.
I don't see the point in belittling me for sharing information. If you don't want to read it, then don't. I'm not gonna make you.

Sorry, I was trying to mock everyone else, including myself for not reading the article. I skimmed it manually and realized that many might choose to create an AI summary, and that summary would be ironic. Imagine it would be something like. This article is saying that people have lost the motivation to read articles.

Oh fair enough. Your sarcasm didn't convey, but that's difficult on the internet. (Add a /s on the first comment and you'll get less downvotes lol)
But you get a hearty "lol" from me now. 🤪

I agree, but reading the conclusion at the end was spooky for sure.

I got a popup with their Reading Assistant AI asking me if I want it to summarize the article about AI over-dependence.
Future is looking bright.

Starting to wonder if people who post links to studies even bother to read them, or just skim them to validate what they feel sounds right.

To be fair, it isn't the AI itself that demands payment, but the companies creating it.
It has yet to be proven to be conscious and therefore cannot be held accountable
The companies behind it however, can.
