It was made by the Swedish, they make a good piece of furniture

Put in a box by the Swedish. Someone else assembled it.

It too wished for immortality

Imagine he sat on it for so long it became an extension of himself

The English teacher in me wants to say that the bench persists, because represents the last remnant/connection to his old life
The actual me just thought it was really funny to keep the bench there the whole time

That’s the entertaining thing about art I guess 😅 even when it’s clearly for comedy it’s fun to think about what it could mean seriously

He probably spilled some liquor on it.

The djinn's immortality ray hit the bench too when she zapped him

That is why I ask to live as long as I wish.

You'd be captured by the government day 2 and experimented on until you wanted to die. Djinn aren't kind. They're basically monkey paws.

But how would the government detect you are immortal? I feel like they wouldn’t know until things like your birth certificate or Social Security card start to suggest that you’re suspiciously long lived

Random chance, generally. Immortality and invulnerability aren't the same thing, so maybe you get shot and heal or get shot and don't die. Like I said, djinn will make your wish backfire.

Agreed, you could end up all kinds of disabled and robbed of independence but still technically alive. Johnny got his gun, brain in a jar type of locked internally

Yea.. just like immortality doesn’t mean you won’t age. So could still age, feel the pain of aging, and just not die. Could still get dementia. If appendages could also not die you know pharmacy companies could test stuff on them.

"They're gonna know!"
"How would they know?"
19. u/RommDan · 2026-11-01 20:52 UTC
You don't wish for anything to a djinn, you trick them back into the bottle and pray that you are dead the next time it gets open because once a djinn gets free they can do whatever they want, and they are VENGEFUL spirits

I wish you would not grant me this wish
