For those not aware:

ForgetMeNot has the mutant ability of being forgotten the moment he is not observed(living and most technology). Similar to the Weeping Angels The Silence from Doctor Who, except that he's actually nice. There are mainly three character who can remember him, and two of them are not really human. Professor X put a mental notification on himself to remind him that the person does exist. Others just notice him through things like lacking food and toilet paper being used at the X-Mansion

Double spoiler:He actually sacrifices himself to save the X-men and many others, but because of his power he is essentially not remembered.

To make this a even sadder ending for a unforgettable character, there a mutant who sole power is to be a save file for every mutant once they died which later help resurrect everyone that died but because forget me not mutant power make her forget he exist so does her powers so he fundamentally forever dead and forgotten

Good news for you, that's actually not true. He was brought back in the white hot room at the end of the Krakoan Age. I think he was brought back to the real world in a Marvel Unlimited comic and just hasn't appeared since.
