Prestidigitation has so many uses that if I could have any spell irl. It would be it.

One of its effects is flavoring food, you could open the best restaurant

I thought that too but you can only maintain 3 uses at the same time I think? But still such an amazing use. I remember a bodybuilder who was in my animation class who did chicken and broccoli everyday which is a great meal, but the same thing 4 or 5 times a day was a chore. Prestidigitation would have revolutionised his life haha

what about a hybachi, sushi or bar style restaurant ? Your kitchen is in front of customer and you make small bites. You provide un show ans tell service, not a nutritional one. Like you could make crunchy chips or fizzy pickles, but flavored in alien ways. And being close to customer means you can play with them even more :
Imagine a gooey chocolate cookie but it has the flavor of the bbc ribs your grandma used to make, and it's infused with all the nostalgia you carrie of it. And suddenly, you drop your concentration while the customer is chewing and the bbc disappears to become full power chocolate now coating their mouth, done by your truly with no magic this time. A contrast between the arcane art of the child you were amd the artisanal art of the man you became. All in a single bite while I'm passionately talking about it...

Just write "No Takeouts" to a sign.

He’d have the ability to change the flavoring but still wouldn’t.

Prestidigitation would be insanely useful. It’s not just flavoring things or heating/cooling; you can also start or snuff a campfire, and clean things. Doing dishes would be a Mary Poppins game.

Does the cubic foot have to stay together to be activated? Or could you do a cubic foot of sauce to put in otherwise normal food?

High demand + low supply = you can have a restaurant that only serves 3 at a time, and charge whatever you want.

Same, I've always wanted it IRL. That or Comprehend Languages.
I feel like Wish only makes sense by the rules of the multiverse that DnD takes place in, but if it followed our generalized understanding/depiction of a wish (the Eurasian folkloric model), I would like that too.

Eh comprehend languages lets you understand what people are saying which is ok, but Speak with Animals allows you to speak with your MAGA neighbors

but Speak with Animals allows you to speak with your MAGA neighbors
That's a fucking downside.

Comprehend is for written word, Tongues is for speech
