I made this comic over a year ago (with one key edit) and surprise, Florida is as red as ever. Congratulations to Texas though! Apologies for another political post; feel free to let me know if it's getting to be much :)

Is that guy still dumb to this day?

3. u/Old_Instrument_Guy · 2026-11-05 13:19 UTC

He lives in Florida, so yes.

You're trying to get out at least

I'm gonna go against the grain and say I'm proud of her for staying and fighting the good fight.

It would have been so easy in 2010 when Wisconsin lost to Walker to leave. But we didn't. We stayed and fought for what we believe in. It took 16 years, regaining lost ground inch by inch, but Wisconsin is blue again.

Texas is blue because people stayed and fought.

Fleeing to consolidated places of liberal control is what the conservatives -want-. It's easier to take away our rights and freedoms if we all live in one place. Don't do that.

Your safety comes first of course, but if you can, stay and fight.

Life long Florida resident here. Unfortunately people outside of Florida only see the dumb parts of Florida. I just had to rescue my Mom with a Swamp Buggy. It does not get more Florida than that.

If you look at something like Amendment 3 which just past with the required number of votes, you can see just how dumb most of the population is, well at least those who are voting. The Amendment still needs to be adopted by the State, and it may do some good things such as reducing or removing property taxes from lower income properties, as if those exist in Florida anymore. However, depriving Counties of funding just means they will have to makeup the shortfall in some other way. The roads are not going to fix themselves. The street lights need to stay on, the sewage needs to be processed, etc.. They are just going to need to tap into other income streams to make up the difference. It's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

It would be interesting to see if there is a breakdown on the 62% of voters who voted for this amendment are actual home owners.

We also elected another republican Gov. who is going to be following in the white Bootsteps of Meatball Ron. Let's hope he cares more about quality of life in Florida and less about the Politics of Disney's CFO.

Flordor?

10. u/PhantasyAngel · 2026-11-05 14:17 UTC

More floors?

From depiction you don't have a choice and want to leave, but this guy whole heartedly loves the worst parts of it.

12. u/Randalor · 2026-11-05 13:35 UTC

Well, you are still living in Florida, so...

(I kid)

13. u/tiger2205_6 · 2026-11-05 14:01 UTC

Sounds like you're stuck, same as me. You're good.

14. u/educated_liar · 2026-11-05 14:35 UTC

Don't worry, scro'! There're plenty of Floridians out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was Floridian: She's a pilot now

I kind of hope this jabroni is just made up for the comic and is more of an artistic representation of Floridians than a real person.

As a FL native, everything I vote for fails and everything I vote against succeeds. It's pretty disheartening but I will continue to vote every time. One of these days we'll turn over just like Texas has. Part of our issue is all the retirees here that vote conservatively.

17. u/puppylust · 2026-11-05 16:01 UTC

Hi neighbor. I hear you. We're not alone in this nightmare.

Georgia did it. Maybe there's still hope for our future. Maybe the hurricanes and floods can send some of the recent maga arrivals back to where they came from.

18. u/TheW83 · 2026-11-05 16:04 UTC

Part of me fears that those extreme types in places that have turned blue will see FL as their safe haven and continue flocking here.

19. u/puppylust · 2026-11-05 16:11 UTC

Yeah :(

20. u/Scourge_beast124 · 2026-11-05 16:25 UTC

Not from Florida, but when I lose a vote I still try again and don't let my beliefs waiver. I feel like my vote at least shows that there are people still in the place I live that believe the things I do even if I am not the majority.
