So, again, I live in Texas. Today has literally been nothing but "oh WW3 is coming and we are all gonna die now that the Dems are in charge."
Like no joke one of my co workers bought a 200 gallon water tank to keep at home so they have water when "we lose power when the Russians come"

lmaoooo
This reminds me of my now passed father in law. He was convinced for years that the dems were going to come for his guns. Lots of "let them take them from me" talk blah blah. Just years and years of the same rhetoric. And I always thought "the dems have been in power like four times since you've been ranting about this and its never happened. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?"

Either he's about to go Doomguy to save the world from some threat we're unaware of... or he's a typical republican lol

Naw cause that wouldn't be very Christian, in his own words. I wish I could make this up
Which is funny cause the Slayer kills actually demons

Haha. "Saving other people from demons? Thats socialist bullshit!"
8. u/lesser_panjandrum · 2026-11-06 19:31 UTC
Terry Pratchett knew what was up, as always.
Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil... prayer, fasting, good works and so on. Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun. Eat leaden death, demon.

He should hit up Musk to send him to mars so he can fight those demons.

Im just gonna say that to someone who knows guns, 1000 rounds of ammo really isnt that much. Depending on caliber, that's like a case or 2, and is pretty standard for a bulk purchase for recreational use, and would typically only last like 3-4 range trips.
So yea, a thousand rounds isn't a lot. If he was buying a pallet of ammo, yea, that's excessive.
Also, when Trump banned bump stocks in his first term, he enacted more gun control than Obama did in his entire 8 years in office. It's always fun to remind hardcore gun nut MAGAts about that.

this leftist keeps 500 at all times, 1k is not hoarding territory at all, assuming guy actually bothers to use the damn things from time to time

One of my litmus tests for peoples opinions on guns is how they react to ammunition. A report will say they found 5 different guns, and they'll be a mixture of handguns, long guns and shotguns and also 800 total rounds of ammunition. Some people will react like ammunition is interchangeable or that people are buying it one bullet at a time.

To be fair, a thousand rounds isn't all that much if you're shooting as a sport. My niece does competitive clay target shooting (trap and skeet) and she'll go through 200 or more rounds in a competition weekend.
14. u/Made_Bail · 2026-11-06 19:16 UTC
Yeah, but considering the timing of this purchase, you know these are going into a stockpile. "Just in case."
15. u/DarthGuber · 2026-11-06 20:58 UTC
Also "stockpiling for when the Dems raise prices" BS that retailers always use as an excuse to raise prices anyway.
16. u/wickedmadd · 2026-11-06 19:42 UTC
1000 rounds is rookie numbers dude. Seriously, that's a day at the range. The media overblows this all the time.

I remember that! And don't remember pushback/hysteria from the right or the NRA, either!

I wish the Dems have been in power four times in my lifetime. At best they'll win the presidency and get congress for like...70 days.

My father does this shit. It is one and only political thought. He knows nothing about his own country.
