Yeah, if “hungry” = wanting to be perceived as a gender, and “full” = not wanting to be perceived as a gender, then neither hungry nor full is pretty spot on. Like there isn’t any desire or disgust going on I’m just pretty indifferent

I've always loved interactions like this because it really shows what kind of person they are. They aren't afraid or hateful of something they don't understand, they genuinely just don't understand it. A lot of people become uncomfortable with new information, especially about a different side of humanity, because it makes them feel dumb — when in reality being dumb is just a normal part of learning. You will never grow as a person if you can't accept that it's ok to not be right, and you almost have to feel sorry for transphobic people in that regard because they're going to be stuck in that same state for the rest of their lives. That's not to say you should pity them, but the situation they put themselves in is genuinely pitiful.

Hell, even being intersex, something so outside of the normal that a lot of people in the community don't even know about our little corner (and our corner doesn't know everything about our corner either) I STILL don't know everything. It's refreshing when you have someone who's willing to learn instead of trying to accuse you of being the bad guy for something they knew nothing about. It'd be like a kid in math class standing up and getting pissed off at the teacher for teaching him subtraction when: "I just learned everything about addition!!!" They don't realize it's all a part of math, just a part the student hasn't learned yet. Unfortunately, we see a lot of that these days, and it's genuinely irritating.

In what way is it of the mark? Cause if you toon hungry and full to be the binary what he’s saying is kin between and therefore like you could go either way right?

Like I get that gender and wether you want food are very different but as an analogy the problem isn’t obvious to me.

Doesn't really match the vibes more than anything else. Impossible to give a clearer explanation without knowing the character more than I do.

This is the dumbest metaphor but class is in 3 minutes.

It's more like that space when you crouch down. You could spring up and jump, or you could plop down and sit. But neither feels right, maybe you tried them, maybe you just feel it in your bones. Either way, crouching is the right thing, that space in the middle, so you stay right there and it feels like home.

You might call it the dumbest metaphor, but it's the first one I've felt like I understood. I can't empathize with the feeling as I don't have it (or any related feelings to it), but that makes me understand the feeling a bit better.
