It's not, but nothing wrong with some Sci-Fi art.

Oh, great. Excessive deforestration before investigations into environmental effects wasn't enough, now they're gonna also siphon electricity, too.

I want this nonsense to stop in my country and I want Google to get a permanent construction ban on those data centers.

These companies don't care at all! And I bet our politicians are in on it, too!

5. u/Master_Muskrat · 2026-10-23 21:01 UTC

But the politicians promised that this deal wouldn't affect electricity prices. Surely they wouldn't lie to us, right?

6. u/RedditUser000aaa · 2026-10-23 21:12 UTC

Surely not, politicians are honest! Like they were involved in another corrupt project, but surely they learned and had a change of heart!

Altho given how Ukrainian refugees and immigrants have not been paid in these construction sites or have been massively underpaid, I think not.

There's no money flowing to Finland with these data centers. They have our land, our electricity, but money goes elsewhere.

I bet our politicians got paid tho, so they have no reason to care, because their wallets got fattened up.

I don't think Google should be allowed to grow anymore. In fact, they need to be broken up and their worldwide effect be minimized since it's no longer working to help humanity advance as a whole. Now it's just being used to consume resources and feed billionaires. Totally worthless at this point.

This shit is the reason why aliens won't openly visit us. If you want them to probe us or abduct our politicians then shit needs to change.

I think that how we treat people with other skin color also isn’t a good selling point.

If we can be that ruthless on just skin color, imagine how ruthless we can be if they totally look differently. And if they are defenseless you just know some people will capture it and try to turn it into profit.

Any intelligent alien that is peaceful by nature will just avoid us as we collectively can’t seem to keep peace. So the only alien that would visit us would be one that probably is looking for a conflict.

And we don’t want to have an alien species that is looking for war to come visit us.

"Look at these humans, fighting over biological differences, ancient stories, hoarding bartering tokens that have no actual real use, and land they they themselves decided was special.

We should probably leave them alone to sort things out."

“We are on a mission to destroy all live in the universe.”

“So why don’t we destroy the earth?”

“Honestly? The humans are doing a better job at it than we ever could. Best not to disturb them while they are at it.”

AI LLMs being the big filter would be low-key hilarious

"Checks out next to every civilization burned their planet through the greed of a very few mega rich, LLM Bubble being the last tipping point"

13. u/ChaosMilkTea · 2026-10-23 21:07 UTC

How do you think the aliens would visit us? Probably with their own 100 years ai voyager.

14. u/yournamehere10bucks · 2026-10-24 02:32 UTC

I dunno, how'd Susan Dell get here?

15. u/Wizard_Engie · 2026-10-23 21:06 UTC

I think it's more like aliens haven't gotten the tech to do so yet, same as us

16. u/Intelligent_Slip_849 · 2026-10-23 23:40 UTC

Nah, if they're anything like us, they're still figuring out what the necessary paperwork for first contact should be.

17. u/AnhiArk · 2026-10-23 21:16 UTC

No probes for us :(

18. u/amurgiceblade44 · 2026-10-23 20:49 UTC

No, we shall reject this future!

19. u/Fun_General_6407 · 2026-10-23 21:01 UTC

And substitute our own!
